The image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, an icon by any measure, set in a frame of sequins woven by hand. The same magic that centuries ago surrounded the appearance of that effigy on the mantle of a young Aztec farmer lives on in the gestures and the patience of the artisans who compose it today.
